Description/Purpose: Participation in this online module will increase the learner’s knowledge of the role of the legal nurse consultant during pleadings and discovery.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the considerations and steps involved in initiating litigation
- Describe the fundamental concepts of civil procedure
- Identify frequently encountered evidentiary requirements in relation to discover in civil actions
- Discuss the steps in the discovery process and analyze the function of each
- Compare and contrast the role in the discovery process of the legal nurse consultant from the plaintiff and defense perspective and form the role of the nurse expert
