Target Audience: RNs interested in learning more about legal nurse consulting and the LNC role in workers’ compensation case evaluation
Description/Purpose: Participation in this online module will increase the learner’s knowledge on workers’ compensation as it relates to the legal nurse consultant performing case evaluations.
Learning Objectives:
· Describe five underlying principles of the workers’ compensation system
· List the workers’ compensation benefits provided to the employee or injured worker
· Discuss the role of the legal nurse consultant in assisting with causation in workers’ compensation claims
· Compare the plaintiff and defense LNC roles in workers’ compensation claims
· Describe the role of the LNC in catastrophic injury claims
