Target Audience: RNs interested in learning more about legal nurse consulting and the LNC role in trial preparation and trial

Description/Purpose:

Participation in this online module will increase the learner's knowledge on the LNC role in trial preparation and trial.

Learning Objectives:

• Explain the difference between admissible and inadmissible medical records
• State issues of concern regarding the use of deposition testimony, documents, and physical and demonstrative evidence at trial
• Discuss the role of the LNC in witness preparation, jury selection, and testimony presentation
• Describe the purpose of demonstrative evidence, and distinguish between demonstrative evidence substantive evidence, and visual aids
• Describe the role of legal nurse consultant in the preparation and presentation of demonstrative evidence
• Describe the purpose of well-organized trial and witness notebooks
