This activity is designed to augment the knowledge and skills of legal nurse consultants and assist in their understanding of the analysis of medical malpractice claims involving failure to thrive diagnosis and treatment.
Upon completion of the learning activity the leaner will be able to:
a. Evaluate medical malpractice claims involving failure to thrive (FTT ) and identify if practice standards, guidelines, and algorithms for FTT are met.
b. Understand the medical diagnosis and treatment of FTT and identify possible implicit and/or explicit bias of the providers and systems diagnosing and treating FTT.
c. Assist attorneys to create timelines, identify gaps, determine harm, and identify elements contributing to harm in infants diagnosed with FTT.

c. know the procedures for proper evidence collection and chain of custody for evidence to be used in gunshot wound cases.
